In a continued effort to strengthen leadership among Muslim youth, AMYNA’s RISE campaign has sponsored Al-Hujjah Retreat which took place in Big Bear Lake, California.  From April 25-27 youth from across the West Coast convened to take part in intensive spiritual and leadership renewal program at Camp Tanda in Big Bear Lake.  Moderators included Br. Gaith Mahmood, Br. Haidar Sabri, Sayed Haidar Bahr Al-aloom and other respected youth and scholars from across the country. 

Here’s what the organizers have to say:

“The purpose of the retreat is to foster bonds of unity amongst the youth in our region; to promote reflection, contemplation, and spirituality; and finally to provide direct leadership skills in order to initiate positive change within the respective communities through dialogue, discussions, and interactive workshops and activities.”

”We firmly believe that in order to affect progress in our communities, we need to endow sincere, dedicated Muslim youth with the skills, tools, and perspective they will need to carry the torch of Islam in this country.”
