Protest Dunkin' Donuts with Koffee-yahs

Kafiya

Protest by joining us in this unique form of expression by taking your picture wearing a kuffyeh at a local Dunkin' Donuts.

As you probably know by now, Dunkin’ Donuts has pulled an ad due to pressure from the right-wing blogosphere because of Rachel Ray's wardrobe. As a unique form of protest, some young activists came up with "KOFFEE-YEHS," a project to gather up a series of photos of people wearing their kuffyehs while drinking a cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee (preferably their last), or eating a donut. These pictures will be posted on a blog and distributed to the Dunkin’ Donuts corporation to show them that 1) we are not terrorists because we wear the kuffyeh; 2) the kuffyeh does not symbolize terrorism in the first place; and 3) we are customers of Dunkin’ Donuts, and this is the business they will be losing because of their lack of knowledge and capitulation to pressure from a group of neoconservatives who are no different than the extremists they speak out against (who also use fear and propaganda to push their own agenda).

We ask you to please participate in this demonstration of unity by taking a photo of you drinking a cup of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee while wearing a kuffyeh and mailing it to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . When you mail in the photo, please include the city in which it the photo was taken, so we can get an idea of the worldwide participation we're getting. To save up on photos, you can take one picture with a bunch of friends if you like. A blog and Facebook group page have already been set up, so look out for the invitation to join it!
